RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Focus we are doing a test fit of the Rocky Mountain's Brass Knuckle Roof Mounted Bike Rack. Part number is RKY1202. We have a bike already on the rack, I would like to show you a few features of it. Like I said it's called Brass Knuckles as you can look here they high bar this is pretty much a wheel frame hook that holds down our front wheel plus we have two straps and our wheel cradles that hold down our tires so we will take those off first. All right set those off. Like I said to disengage this you just press the blue lever here, bring up and if you want to engage it you grab it like brass knuckles and just bring it down. more

Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Fiesta INA389- Video

Today on our 2015 Ford Fiesta, we're going to test it of the Inno tire hold roof bike rack, number INA389. Now we already have our bike on the rack. We are first going to show you how we strap that down. Like I said before, this is a tire hold, how it's going to hold those tires just a big loop and a cradle here in the middle, that's going to adjust up and down for different types of bikes that you have. If you have a shorter bike with shorter tires you can just adjust that. We've also got this wheel cradle here at the bottom that's going to move up and down, so have your tire sit right in there. Now one thing that's different about the back from the front is that it does ratchet down. more

Today on our 2015 Ford Edge Titanium, we are going to be doing a test fit of the Enno 00:00:05 Tire Hold rooftop mounted bike rack. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here and in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it installed on your vehicle. Just note that this is meant more for your expensive bikes that you don't want any damage to the frame at all, so you don't need to mount it by your forks, like you would on your normal bike racks. You can mount it with the rubber on your tires as they'll fit inside the cradles. Let's go ahead and show you how the bike's secured to the rack. We'll first need to take our key and unlock the center locking mechanism here. Once we've done so, go ahead and lift it up just like so, and then pull the back side off. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Escape we're testing the RockyMounts brass knuckles roof mountain bike rack part number RKY1202. As you can see here we'd already had our bike on the rack. I'm just going to show you how to put the bike on and screw it, and how we put the rack on. Now back here and up front the tyres are held in by this two straps but the front tyre is also held in by this bar here. To secure the bar down you just push up to release it. Push down on this blue button and push up. It is a little stiff so it may take a minute. You want to hang on to your bike because it will wobble after that, just carry it down and just push until it stops clicking. more

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Sprint. This will be your rooftop mounted bike rack for a single bike and it's going to mount via the T track system. As you can see here, you'll have your T track mounts and we'll show you how those all go in place. We do have our arrow blades on here but it will work with most all of your racks that have T track systems. In order to expose our T tracks, we'll need to remove the ends off of our crossbars, just like so and we'll set those off to the side. You can either do this two ways, you can cut and make a custom fit spot for that to fit so you can trim your rubber piece on the inside here or you can remove the whole thing while you have your rack on and then placing your rubber protective strip back in after you're done. Whichever you decide to do, whatever is going to fit your lifestyle the best. more

Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Sprint. This will be your rooftop mounted bike rack for the fork of your bike and a single bike, part number TH528. As you can see, it's going to be a clamp-on design that's going to go around your crossbar system, whatever crossbar system they may be, whether that be an aero tight bar like we have on here today, or if you have your factory crossbars, elliptical bars, round bars, or square bars. This will work with all of those. Let's go ahead and start off by showing you how the bike mounts up. On the front, it's going to mount with your fork, and on the back you're going to have a safety strap around that rear wheel. To disengage the safety strap, we're going to press that gray button in, press the strap out until we can grab a hold of it, removing it from around the wheel. more

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Focus- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Focus, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Sprint. This is going to be your T track mounted, roof bike rack and as you can see we already have our Thule Aeroblades up here and we're going to be sliding it into these T tracks here. This is going to be part number TH569. First step we're going to do in placing it on the vehicle is to remove the end caps and for your application, you're going to need to actually cut this strip here and pull it out, measure or put it up on top. What I would do would be to mark it with either a paint pen or something of that sort and then once you pull it out, you only need to pull the one side, slide your bike rack in there and then slide the other side in. But for this application, we'll go ahead and pull it out, that way you can see how it goes in. I'll set these off to the side. more

This is going to be for your single bike to be fork mounted on top of your rack system. As you can see we've already got our Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Bars installed. This bike rack is going to be part number RBC035, and we're going to set it up here and show you exactly how it's fitted, and what it looks like with a bike on it. First thing we're going to do is make sure that we've got the rubber straps on the inside undone to where we can lay them underneath the bar, and rest the pad on top with the straps coming underneath. Unlock the cover, and remove it. Place the T shape of the rubber strap into the slots and groves here. more

Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Thule Sprint Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number Th528. With a factory roof rack system on our Escape, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll just position the rubber coated steel strap around the underside of the bar, and hook it into the connection point. We'll then use the speed link knobs to tighten down the straps around the bar. Moving to the back of the bike rack, I'll slide the bracket to where it's resting on the rear bar. Again, I'll bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the bar, and tighten it down with the speed link knob. Once everything is all tightened down and secure, we're ready to load up our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader roof mountain bike rack part number Y02103. Swagman Upright Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting this Swagman Upright roof-mounted bike rack, part number S64720. I went ahead and situated a ladder here next to the vehicle. I'm only five two, so I'm pretty short and I need the extra height. We'll start by placing the rack on top of our vehicle over top of our bars. With this particular rack they include for the front mounting point two U-bolts with four wing nuts. So we'll go ahead and take the wing nuts off of one of the U-bolts, thread it underneath of our rack and through the holes. I'll go ahead and get that started. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2010 Ford F150 we will be test fitting the Rockymounts Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the Thule rapid traverse roof rack system on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the Tierod Stretch directly on to our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring the rubber coated straps around the front bar and we'll remove the black plastic cover to gain access to our Allen bolt. We'll take an Allen key and tighten the Allen bolt which will tighten our strap around our front bar. Once we have that tight we can replace the black plastic cover and make sure our skewer at the front is loose for when we're ready to load our bike. Here at the rear we'll bring our clamp around our rear bar, drop the Allen bolt through and tighten down with the Allen key. With the front and rear secured we'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack, drop in our front forks down onto our skewer. more

Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Focus- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Focus we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint. This is a roof-mounted fork-clamp-style bike rack. Its part number is TH528. Now we've already got our Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system installed on the Focus so we're going to begin our test fit by placing our front clamp directly on top of our front bar. We'll make sure that that black rubber-coated strap comes around the underside. We're then going to slide rearward on our rear clamp, get that positioned over top of our load bar here, and with that in the correct spot and with the strap going underneath we can go back up to the front. Here we're going to place the strap into the two indentations that are located here. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Focus- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Focus we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio. This is a roof-mounted bike rack. It's designed to hold your bike through using the fork clamp. This in the black and chrome is part number TR02. We also have this available in a gray and orange. Its part number is RU01. Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint roof mounted bike rack, part number TH528. We'll begin our test fit by placing the rack on top of our vehicle. We'll go ahead and adjust this forward by sliding it. That way it'll lay on top of the crossbar. We're going to be test fitting this today on the factory roof rack system on our Escape. I'll go ahead and grab a step, that way I have a little bit more room, reach. What we're going to do, once you have it in the right position, is take the T 00:00:43, get it into its correct place on the front there. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we are going to be test fitting the Yakima front loader, a wheel mount roof bike rack, part #Y02103. With our Yakima Q tower roof rack system already installed on our Taurus, we are going to begin our test fit by placing our back rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front, we'll bring the two portions of the clamp to the front side of our cross bar and the single portion of our clamp will go around the rear. We will then use the T-handle located in the front to tighten this down. With our front secure, we will now move to the rear. Here we're going to loosen the black T-nut, remove the T-bolt from the slot on the lower half of the clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, re-insert the T-bolt and tighten it down with the T-nut. With our rack secure, it is now time to load our bike. We'll first undo our wheel strap and move our front wheel cradle all the way to it's forward position. We'll now grab our bike, place it onto the rack, allow it to roll forward slowly, bringing up the smaller rear half of the front wheel cradle. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus we'll be test-fitting the Yakima ForkLift, a fork mount, roof-mounted bike rack, part number Y02098. With the Yakima Q-Tower Roof Rack system already installed on the Taurus, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. The front, we'll remove the skewer. It is reverse thread. Slide back the black plastic cover. Then we can loosen the T handle to separate the lower half of our clamp. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman upright roof bike rack, part number S64720. With our Yakima Q tower roof rack system already installed on the Taurus, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly on to our crossbars. Here at the front we'll bring two of the metal U-bolts around the underside of our bar, fit them through the head of the rack, and use two wingnuts to secure each one in place. With all four of our wingnuts in the front tight, we can now move to the rear. This time we're going to place the U-bolt down through the rack, around our bar, being sure that we have threads on both sides of our crossbar. We'll then bring the metal portion of the clamp up, place the U-bolt through it, and then we'll secure this in place using two of the wingnuts. With the rear secured it's now time to load our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down, the fork mount roof bike rack, part number S64710. With our Yakima Q Towers roof rack system installed on our vehicle, we're going to begin the test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll bring one of the metal U-bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of the carrier, and secure it in place using 2 wing nuts. We'll repeat the same process on the other side of the front of the carrier here, and then secure down all 4 of our wing nuts. With our front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to place one of the U-bolts down through the rack. We'll be sure that it comes down on both sides of our crossbar. more

SportRack Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the SportRack Roof Mount Bike Rack part number SR4622. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack system already installed on the Taurus, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. At the front we'll bring one of the black rubber coated metal U-Bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of the carrier and hold it in place with two wing nuts. On the other side of the front we'll repeat that same process, then we can tighten all four wing nuts down to secure the front of our rack to our front bar. We'll now moved to the rear bar, where we're going to place two carriage bolts through the rack, being sure that they come out on both sides of our rear crossbar, we'll then place the black plastic portion of our clamp in between our rack and our load bar being sure that these carriage bolts go through it. Then we'll bring our metal portion of our clamp around the underside of our bar. We'll fit the two bolts through it and secure it and place using two wing nuts. With these two secure, it's now time to load our bike. more
